Michael Neal

Michael S. Neal, CCE, CCD, is in his third year as president and Chief Executive Officer of the Tulsa Metro Chamber.  He leads the Chamber’s full-time professional staff of 55 in the areas of economic development, convention and visitor development, government affairs, community betterment, small business and membership services.  Through 2,800 member organizations, the Chamber represents more than 175,000 regional employees and utilizes 1,700 volunteers to achieve its mission.  In 2005, the American Chamber of Commerce Executives named the Tulsa Metro Chamber as Nation’s Best Chamber when it received the Award of Excellence in the largest membership category. 

Neal most recently served as the president and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce for four years.  Prior to joining the Nashville Area Chamber, Neal spent 12 years as president and CEO of the Monroe, La., Chamber of Commerce.

Neal is heavily involved in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and serves on their Transportation Infrastructure & Logistics Committee, Chamber of Commerce Committee and Committee of 100. An active member of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), Neal has earned several professional designations, including the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation and the Certified Community Developer (CCD). He received the prestigious Chairman’s Award, the highest national award given, by the ACCE. Neal is a member of the ACCE Board of Directors and Finance Committee and Chairman of the Certification Commission.

In addition to those, Neal currently serves on the local boards of The State Chamber, Oklahoma Business Roundtable, Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, i2E, Foundation for Tulsa Schools, Oklahoma Business & Education Coalition, Southern Economic Development Council, Downtown Tulsa Unlimited, and the Tulsa Area United Way.  He is currently enrolled in Leadership Oklahoma, serves on the Governor’s International Team and is a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa and First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa.

Neal and his wife Jana have two daughters, Cambridge, age 12, and Caroline, age 10.
