Dana White is a recent graduate of the Organizational Dynamics program at the University of Oklahoma – Tulsa Schusterman Campus. Her emphasis in the program was project management, and specifically studied necessary and important leadership skills for project managers to lead their projects to successful conclusions; satisfying the needs of the project owners, stakeholders, and the host organization and how this supports organizational goals and objectives and effects the organization's bottom line.
The talk will consist of a discussion of the importance of leadership skills (not personality type or leadership style) in managing projects based on a comprehensive review of the literature of PM practices and theories. Dana will discuss the development of an inventory designed specifically to assess project professionals' perception of the necessity for, and the importance of leadership skills in the project management discipline.Dana holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 12 years. She has been in leadership roles in her previous work and looks forward to utilizing all of her unique skills, education, and experience in order to support project managers and organizations in selecting, hiring, training, and developing project managers for success.
