Martha I. Zapata Roblyer has a master degree in organizational dynamics with emphasis in project management from the University of Oklahoma, a professional degree in psychology from La Universidad del Valle, in Colombia, with a major in organizational psychology and a minor in clinical psychology. She worked in the recruitment and selection of personnel for several years and was the managing partner of a firm that provided consulting services for major national and international companies operating in South America. Currently, she is working as a programs manager for the YWCA. Since her incursion in the non-profit world, her purpose has been to apply business principles, methods, and procedures used by for-profit companies to the management of grants and programs that meet community needs.
